Here are 10 foods to eat for a glowing complexion:

Fatty Fish

Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fish like salmon, mackerel, and sardines help maintain skin’s elasticity and hydration, reducing inflammation and promoting a youthful glow. If a patient has acne, I prefer to incorporate omegas through diet initially, until the skin clears. Generally, I find this is more effective than adding in omega 3 fatty acid supplements which may be harder for the body to process.

Avocado

Packed with healthy fats, vitamin E, and antioxidants, avocados nourish and moisturize the skin, keeping it supple and radiant.

Berries

Blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries are loaded with antioxidants and polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals that protect the skin from oxidative stress and promote collagen production, resulting in a smoother complexion.

Dark Leafy Greens

Spinach, kale, and Swiss chard are powerhouse foods for skin health, packed with vitamins A, C, and E, as well as iron and antioxidants that help repair and rejuvenate the skin.

Nuts and Seeds

Almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds, and chia seeds are excellent sources of essential fatty acids, zinc, and vitamin E, which promote skin repair, reduce inflammation, and maintain skin’s moisture levels.

Sweet Potatoes

Loaded with antioxidants called catechins, green tea helps protect the skin from sun damage, improve skin elasticity, and reduce redness and inflammation, resulting in a clearer complexion.

Dark Chocolate

Indulge in moderation with dark chocolate containing at least 80% cocoa, which is rich in antioxidants that improve blood flow to the skin, hydrate the skin, and protect against sun damage, resulting in a healthier glow. No/low sugar is really important.
